Their "Night Vision" glasses use light yellow lenses to enhance road contrast and improve your distance of view. Field tested at 24 Hours of LeMans, Tag Heuer is feeling charitable enough to provide them for your next vital midnight run to grab a "fourth meal." I got some yellow ones for night driving for $40 (minor astigmatism in one eye, and a bit of prism). doofusgumby by grok666 at 4:53 AM 8/3/08 @Noobs-R-Us: Glad I wasn't the only one that noticed that. I had some that fitted over my prescription glasses and acted as safety goggles too - I almost didn't realize that it was past the legal time of day to hunt because they worked so good! grok666 by JoeKing at 4:53 AM 8/3/08 Okay, everyone here needs to learn a few things about sunglasses, particularly in reference to "cheap" vs. "expensive". When you wear cheap sunglasses, the dark tint causes your pupils to become enlarged and allows them to absorb more UV. Obviously most quality sunglasses will have UV protection, but as the really cheap glasses often do not have a full UV A/B/C and blue light protection rating, they are doing more damage than good--you'd be better of not wearing sunglasses at all. When you start to look at something like the above Tag Heuer glasses, which utilize flexible titanium arms coated in silicone rubber and quality lenses, you start to realize why something is the price it is. Sure, the Tag's are probably 5x more expensive than they need to be, but that's business, and they need to make money to be able to spend money developing, running a race car team, etc... people that buy the product expect them to spend that money. My disclaimer is that I own two pairs and they are the most lightweight and comfortable glasses I've ever owned. JoeKing by DigitalTrix at 4:53 AM 8/3/08 ahh...what would be blu-blockers? get you an anniversary special driver sunglasses-7.99! [graveyardmall.com] DigitalTrix by BoinK at 4:53 AM 8/3/08 Just goes to prove that if you put a high enough price on something people will fall for it and think it's something new and innovative. BoinK by SkyLab at 4:54 AM 8/3/08 @HeyBeav: Everything looks like leeeeeemooonnnss SkyLab by jetexas at 4:54 AM 8/3/08 I like Walter's better. jetexas by Noobs-R-Us at 4:54 AM 8/3/08 BTW, I own 3 pairs of Tags like this, with better lens though. What I really like is the design which has very flexible temples that hugs your face without pain. Noobs-R-Us by Noobs-R-Us at 4:54 AM 8/3/08 They look like shooting glasses... Noobs-R-Us by Jimbuck at 4:54 AM 8/3/08 @HeyBeav: You beat me to the punch on the Bono comment...well done. "Hey Opera, do think these 2000 dollar sunglasses scream rich douchebag while still conveying a feeling that I give a sh*t about these poor people? Elevation! Weeeooooo!" Jimbuck by Grifter at 4:54 AM 8/3/08 I am sure that is an actual picture, but yellow... I mean do we really need to see everything look like piss? How about turning on your damn headlights! Grifter by sangraal at 4:54 AM 8/3/08 He's known about these for years. sangraal by ANoel at 4:54 AM 8/3/08 It's a very competent rendering.Makes me wonder - are these eyewear, vaporware? ANoel by master_of_fm at 4:54 AM 8/3/08 @itwasthedog: F-ray or nothing for me. master_of_fm by HeyBeav at 4:54 AM 8/3/08 Will these make me like as a big of a tool as Bono? HeyBeav by discounteggroll at 4:54 AM 8/3/08 @jetexas: they look/perform the same, but they're 10x more expensive (100x more expensive if you are comparing them to walmart smith and wesson shooting glasses) discounteggroll by TheAdAgency at 4:54 AM 8/3/08 Ah, amber-lensed driving glasses, always classy. Glad to see the tat of the '80s once more retooled. TheAdAgency by jetexas at 4:54 AM 8/3/08 Wow, they look like every other amber-lensed pair of sunglasses I've ever seen. jetexas by itwasthedog at 4:54 AM 8/3/08 not biting until they include x-ray itwasthedog by Derrick at 4:54 AM 8/3/08 Do they come in prescription lenses? I have a scar on my retina that causes me to have pretty bad nightvision and I'd be curious to see if these could help.
